Remember the song….”I am leaving on a Jet Plane – Don’t know when I’ll be back again?” Hear the rhythm …Feel the beat …let yourself drift off to one of the most beautiful , magical and wonderful places on earth.
This week, as temperatures soar in Toronto, I am reminded of an Exotic, Tropical “Hot” spot that is dear to my heart.
It’s true, I confess – I do have a kazillion reasons why I love Barbados. It’s not just the sun and fun – it’s the people – the attitude – the spirit – the love and the life there! It is truly a place where YOU can be YOU!
Barbados is my second home (though there are times when I believe it is the place where my soul lives year round). My mother was born and raised in Barbados and two of my three brothers were born there. I grew up with the island spirit. From young we travelled back and forth and from young I knew many of my life treasures, my life lessons and my love of life would be found in Barbados .
The people, the land, the spirit – life events there have special meaning – not only to me but to many . Sure it’s a fabulous vacation destination – but don’t miss out on the vibes and sensations – the total ’experience’ if you go ! There is something – something special , something unique in Barbados . Perhaps it is the ’simple truth ‘ of the place – the passion , the heartbeat – the natural essence of the people that makes you feel you’ve discovered an oasis like no other. It’s hard to pin point what exact ingredients make Barbados so magical. I do know that the sounds, the flavours, the c’est what? do encourage me to believe in global connections. And for sure that is reason enough to celebrate.
Summer is a HOT time in Barbados! Everyone will be gearing up for Crop Over.
The music stations will be pumping up the volume and the people will be dancing in the streets! There will be rumbling and grumbling of who has the best tunes and who will soar to the top of the charts. All together, not one without the other Bajans will meet and greet and soak up life! Young and old and ‘in-between’ – all will come together to cook up another year of celebration and memories. Aah yes – this is a Hot time in Barbados!

Girls just Wanna have fun at Fundraiser! The Tuxedo and White Gloves fundraiser was a Friday Night Blast. The Event was a fabulous success and by the packed Banquet Hall and the smiles… it was easy to see that women from all over came to raise a little FUN and Funds!
A Big round of applause to Tina and Liana – without their goodwill and incredible spirit this event would not have been possible. It is truly amazing what 375 fabulous, good hearted and fun loving women can accomplish when they put their mind and heart into something.
Johara from Belly Up – once again gave a Sensational performance and captivated the audience with her Belly dancing. 
The evening was filled with dancing, shopping, and girls just wanna have fun attitude.
WALLS of HOPE was the Charity and together we cheered them on and celebrated the promise of good things ahead.
