Hi Tara

ah yet another link-I used to wrap myself up in my Grandma Gladys' Regal magazines and though I only travelled as far as Grafton Ontario she made me feel like life was an adventure.

I loved the niftty user friendly gadgets and the colours in the Regal magazine. When I ventured out of my comfy reading lair I would create excitement

I would spend hours on her farm playing ringmaster in the circus with the ponies cats and dogs. That is until Queenie the pony booted me across the yard-Imagine she took exception to the fact that I tried to put a full grown Samoyed dog on her back.. Grandma did not squelch my zest for adventure. She simply said "I guess you are thinking of another circus act now-. Go ahead just give Queenie an apple and let her mull over returning to the spotlight though I might go for the cow next"

Grandma G was always positive, never shaming. You talk about the 13 year old adventure you embarked upon you brave soul Tara.
My Grandma started some new adventures when she was close to eighty. Went for her first ever plane ride( from Toronto to Vancouver) and got her ears pierced to wear the suitable bling.

It is these stories that had Lynda and I start True Diva. We love the fact that we inspire each other and so we love to share tips of how to help even when we are stressed! Positive thinking is important because it actually changes the neural pathways in our brains allowing more capacity for life. Not always easy it is a process we can learn and practice.

We are so thrilled about the postive events coming up this spring-for when women give to themselves with adventure they give to others too! That is wha you share all the time Tara!!!

"Gifting for Life" is all about positive thinking and positive 'being'.

I have an insatiable appetite for travel and adventure. I adore the challenge. I am a people person - meeting new people, learning about new cultures brings my whole being alive. I have a passion for design, style and rock n roll.

At the age of 13 I got into my head that it was about time my best friend ventured off to California to see how the Beautiful people live and play. I had a cousin living in California, so I quickly got in my head that spending a summer romping around in California would be a dream come true. Not to mention - going to California absolutely make us feel ALL grown up - and we know how important it is to feel grown up as one enters high school.

My mother was not dismissive of the idea but she did wonder how I would pay for the trip and get it all organized. At the time - all I knew was California seemed like the coolest place on the planet and I had to get there! Before long, I was selling Regal. Regal Stationery ,( in those days people ordered christmas wrapping, cards , kitchen gadgets and little trinkets) the concept was very much like Avon. Every day after school I would go door to door - tell people what I was fundraising for and ask them to place their order.....and they did! That summer my best friend and I flew to California and had the time of our lives! I recall my mom saying before I boarded the plane...."you se my darling you can accomplish anything when you set your mind to it '!

That summer was a dream come true. I still smile when I look at the pictures. At 13 we knew nothing else but that life was POSITIVE. Life seemed amazing. We were elated about everything - just being able to breathe in the California air seemed super cool. Imagine how elated we were when we met Sonny & Cher at Universal Studios?

Looking back, I think it set the stage for so many adventures that were yet to follow. It just goes to show that when there is a will, there is a way.

Adventure, passion, style and determination are available to all! Just open your mind to the idea and tell yourself you can do it - and you will.

Positive thinking - promoted positive LIVING.

Believe in yourself.
